Chemical gas suppresses fire by eliminating free radicals or the heat element of the fire triangle. Chemical gases like FM200 or Novec 1230 react chemically rather than reducing oxygen, allowing for a smaller agent footprint in tight spaces. Inert gas suppression systems, like IG55 or IG541, work by lowering the oxygen levels to below 15%, thus extinguishing the fire while keeping oxygen levels above 12% for safety.

The control panel includes a key-operated switch that allows selection between manual and automatic modes. Before entering a protected room, set the mode to manual to prevent automatic activation upon fire detection. Discharge hold-off buttons are also available to halt and reset the countdown while investigating the cause of the alarm.
help_outline Will the gas be discharged if there is a false alarm?
For total flood systems, detectors are arranged for coincidence operation, known as double knock. The system enters a first-stage alarm when the first detector activates, allowing time to investigate the cause before resetting or proceeding. If a second detector activates, it enters a second-stage alarm which initiates the gas discharge countdown. Early warning can be enhanced with High Sensitivity Smoke Detection systems.
