Frequently asked questions

Is it my responsibility to test my alarm system, and if so how do I test it?

Yes, as the alarm owner, it is your responsibility to properly test your system with our central station at least once a month. To do this, contact our Central Station at 305-238-0800, place your account on test, arm your system, and trigger the alarm. Then verify with the Central Station that they received the alarm signal.

I need to change my user code, can you change it for me?

Yes, we can help you change your user codes during our normal business hours. Please contact our customer care department Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

How do I change the people on my emergency call list?

Updates to your emergency call list can be made online.

My alarm was triggered by mistake, what do I do now?

If your alarm was triggered accidentally, disarm the system using your code. Our central station will contact you to verify the alarm. If you haven't received a call within 60 seconds, or if you activated the 'Panic' button, contact our central station at 305-238-0800 to cancel the police.

I have a FC or 'Failure to Communicate' on my keypad. What does that mean?

'FC' indicates a failure to communicate; your alarm system is unable to contact our central station. Common causes include a disconnected telephone line, a bad digital communicator, DSL interference, or changes in telephone service providers. Test your alarm with our central station to resolve this, and if the issue persists, contact our service department.

How do I add an additional code to my alarm system?

You can contact our customer care department during normal business hours to add additional codes. Alternatively, you can download your user manual online and add codes yourself.

What is the difference between Stay, Away and Instant?

Stay: Normal exit doors are set with exit and entry delays, with motion detectors bypassed. Away: Normal exit doors are set with exit and entry delays, and motion detectors are active. Instant: Normal exit doors only have an exit delay; no entry delay, and motion detectors bypassed, typically used at bedtime.

I accidentally triggered my alarm and I have turned it off, but now it will not arm again, what's wrong?

If your alarm was triggered, to reset it, you must enter your code followed by OFF(1) two times. Once done, the alarm should set again.

What are your normal service hours?

Our normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. For emergency services after hours, call 305-251-1900. Emergency service is available only for active customers.
